Was I A Lost Soul?

I declined their amusing offering, so as to portray to them what would happen if they were mistaken. They pushed the offer into absurdity, and I did believe in it at some point. But I was unwilling to go with the trade, when I could not see all the way to the end. I knew of their sinister methods, so how could I trust what could not be believed by any credulous person?

However, I did want to believe it. The prospect alone made me famous, and that was enough. So I went along with them to the edge of the map, where things turned out to be nonsensical. Common cause/effect relationships did not function at this point, and everything was more dream-like and had qualities that would change in odd ways over time. This space was definitely heretical. To make such points in the face of God Himself.

I wasn’t tyrannical. I wasn’t oversensitive either. You could not say that I was happy, yet I had what others could only ever dream of and never achieve. In the face of all of this, I was an extremely powerful player. You could not say that I had earned it. I had dreamed of it, but had never shown any true potential. So it was gifted to me for free. Yet, I was not happy either. I was not depressed either. I was just moving along, sometimes taking extreme pleasure in myself, which is really a disqusting habbit.

It was like an experiment where the points were not fixed and everything was allowed for the sake of the fun and experience. We sought what could become of this show and menace. I did move along in this free territory, but I was just another lost person.

Romantic Love

No amount of passion could make of for the way in which our bond were malfunctioning. We were imparting form on to chaos to dress our silly childhood in new clothing. The age of cheap passion designated us as losers, so that we understood instinctively that there was no way out of what Hell we were creating for ourselves. Inflated egos pushed us to the boundary of insanity, but our lovemaking were intense.

Were we incapable of true love? Did we want to deny ourselves the pleasure of family life and the assorted things belonging to this phase in life? I had a hunch that she was in love with the idealistic notion of debauchery. And so we were partners for a while, sharing our most intimate aspects of our personality with each other, but totally devoid of any love. It was not that we did not desire love. It was more that it is impolite to love.

So our sweet embraces turned wilder and wilder, and what belonged to the abyss would manifest when we were close. Perhaps we even idealized suicide for a while, or to crash in the middle of a long night. To say we were dysfunctional is an understatement. However we never judged, but we appreciated the logic of reasoning from cause to effect, so as to understand what lay behind our ulterior motives.

Somehow we always end up where we belong. So our love was not love, but profound indifference and boredom turned into profit. We just didn’t have anything better to do. So we found each other in this void, and in some sense that was the same as love. To erase the loneliness for a while, while pretending that our sex was not the same as masturbation.

This Massive Ambition

We were entering into a subtle territory, when the terror happened. At first it frightened us, but we become used to the pointless killing. The space was vast, and it offered so many hints of what could become, if only the right pieces fell into position. We were untroubled by what others was doing, concerning ourselves only with the excellent, and not falling into the absurdity of modern living with its pointless entertainment and shopping.

If I was not myself, I might have had a quite life. Now I am myself, and so I am bound to this frail destiny. Always the wolves, who are hunting in packs. Always this damned insecurity about the end game and the results. They are marveled by the sight, even though they are not believers, for the play that we portray is immense. Had they only the courage to break free from their mental bondage, they would follow me on to greatness and ultimate fulfilling of all their deepest longings.

In the end it does not matter if it is correct or not. True or not, what we do is important and outer worldly. I have not seen to the end just yet, and I hope many more plot twists will come, for stifling boredom I hate most of all. I would rather have a merciful death than fall into obscurity. You should kill me rather than allow for decay and pointless debate. Though we do not love each other, we are set on this mission together, and so we are a bit like brothers, though so opposed to each other always. We are set on the same course and with the same purpose, and so we will succeed in the end always.

Whatever comes my way, I know that I can endure it for the sake of the end goal. I am sturdy and will take my chances rather than waste away. This ambition has always reigned in my heart, and I love it with a passion. Though we do hate each other, I know this ambition is familiar to you as well. It is most important. Through it all the sorrows of this world turns into ashes. If only it was fulfilled, we would be the happiest alive.

So go now and do the work necessary.

Can The Soul Exist Without The Body?

Can the soul (the subjective experience of a self combined with consciousness) exist without the body? For too long, Western science has in its hypocrisy and hubris assumed that everything can be reduced to what they call matter. But no one has actually witnessed this matter. What we experience is only the content of our consciousness. As Arthur Schopenhauer writes: “the world is my representation”. What is beyond the representation, we do not know. We do not even know if there is anything beyond the representation. We can only guess and speculate, because all we will ever have access to is our own conscious experience of the world.

Maybe there is a universal source from which we all come. I am betting that it is not at all like what the religions describe. Religions are subjective and bound to culture. This is also why they disagree so much with each other. Some have tried to find universal themes within religion, and while there are some, I find this to be a hopeless endeavor. This is not to say that religion is wrong, as I am myself religious, it is merely to point out that religions arises within specific cultures, and so they are bound to be distorted by this subjectivity. What truly lies beyond this world cannot be grasped until we actually go “there”. Philosophers speculations comes closer than the religious scholars, paradoxically, because they operate with ideas. The religious might have heart and all the subjectivity that carries with it, but philosophers can more clearly comprehend it, because of the abstract nature of philosophy.

If there is something beyond this world, it might be consciousness itself. Then we are never separate from it. The consciousness in the individual is the same as the universal consciousness, it being the mind and ego which creates this feeling of being a separate individual. What happens when we die, is that we shed the ego, mind, and body. But consciousness lives on, having never being born and will never die, because it is beyond time and space. How so, you may ask, for it is not obvious that consciousness is not in either time or space. It is not in space, that much should be obvious. Where in space will you place your consciousness? It cannot be done as it is not an object. Neither is it in time. It is only the content, the object of consciousness, which is in time. We can compare consciousness with a mirror. The mirror is greater than its mirror image. Likewise, consciousness is greater than just the content of it.

So if it is beyond time and space, how would it ever die? If it is one with the universal consciousness, then that is where we go when we die. This is the true abode of God. Consciousness itself. The Upanishads describe this as profound bliss. Brahman is Sat, Chit, and Ananda: Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss. It is bliss in so far as it profoundly lacks suffering and conflict. It is the end of all desires, or, rather, the fulfillment of all desires. This is what they mean when they chant “Om Shanti Shanti Shanti”, Shanti meaning peace. Peace is our true nature and our destiny. Consciousness lives on without the body, not needing it ever, it being merely a vehicle, so that we can experience the universe.

True peace is the beginning, the way, and the destination.

Diary Entry #1

In life there are may doors to open, and who knows what lurks on the other side? You can go along with the crowd, but they seldom come upon any great adventure, and so they mostly sleep walk through life, just copying behavior from the others. If you want a life full of excitement, you will need to thoroughly exit the crowd, and from there you must open your eyes to the grandiosity of the universe. Would you rather fade into obscurity, or do you want to come across an essence which cannot be explained to most people?

The divine mystery is a rare occasion. Its agency permeates the universe from the smallest particle to the greatest achievements possible to the human experience. It is not obvious that this is so, and so the mass of people do not know it, but it is there for the few who stumble across it. Then it opens itself and gives of itself in great glory, and you are transformed into a mystic, now able to decipher the riddles of the divine darkness, for you have seen what the others have not. Be blessed for that fact, though you must buy it with a great pain. For they rejected you, though they should have made you their own.

So what is it and what conclusions can you make regarding your journey? It is essential to find the answers to these pressing questions, but the only one’s who can truly answer you, are those who are your enemy, and the enemy will not give it up easily. So you must remain in obscure darkness, seeing only a little of the greatness. They will reveal it slowly, as they need to do this in order for you to realize the purpose they want you to fulfill. Yes, they too need you, and you rely on them for your great purpose, so we are set together like someone sharing a purpose, though we hate each other. But we must come to work together to fulfill the journey until we are at an end.

Perhaps others will come and make their home with you. Then they will give a little of their hearts and mind and you will come to know them. Do not be dismayed that they do not understand you, for it requires great understanding to do so. They might judge you, and so you must let them do so, as you know they cannot understand a person like you, or why you made the choices you did. That is not up to them to understand, and neither should they judge you.

A little further up the road is your home. You will find that it has been taken care of while you were traveling in unfamiliar places. Do not think that there is not a home for you, for you have deserved a place where you can prosper and live in peace. So much toil on this planet, and one day you will leave it, and will remember nothing from what happened in this realm. Then you are taken beyond this world, and you will rest among the angels forever.

The puzzles mystify the masses. They each compete for their right to exist. But of this world beyond this they cannot contemplate.

A prophet is anyone who profess the Kingdom of God.

The fundamental law of existence is not abstract matters like what and to whom it comes, but the choice between good and evil.

I sense in all law a fundamental kindness.

There are essentials goings and comings. Let them pass as they come. The end is more mysterious than the beginnings.

Subtle is the teacher of all movements. Pride you cannot take with you. Shed that pride.

Work beyond common tendencies. Avoid yourself like a pitfall.

The Self As An Illusion

We consider ourselves to be choosing agencies. This we take to be an inescapable fact. We see it as our freedom and as our right. Without it, we do not truly exist, we think. If it was not for a capability to influence our life, then what would we be? We would be nothing, or we would at least not exist as we thought we did.

This might turn out to be just an illusion or even a grand deception by a superior being. What we take for granted and established as real and true, might in fact not truly be what it imposes itself on us. The self might just be a persistent illusion. How else to term it?

Our ability to choose is thoroughly a part of what we term “the self”, and without it, the self crumbles under itself. If we take away our ability to choose, what then is left of the self? Then we are a deluded spectator who thinks he is the show. “Spectator” might be a good term for the reality of the self. You are indeed not the actor, but the witnessing consciousness of it.

How can such a thing be fact? We seem to be enveloped into the story as an agent, and without this, we, in some sense, cease to exist. At least in the sense that we thought we existed. There might be another agency responsible for all psychic phenomenons. Not to call this entity “God” would be an understatement, for it truly organizes reality. This is the being that others have called “Demiurge”.

But it is not something apart from our minds. It might be transcendental as well, but it is also immanent in the mind. It is simply the “machine” that orders this grand illusion which we term the self. Everything emanates from this being. The self is intermixed with it, so that it cannot act without it. It simply orders the self into position.

However, an enlightened being would see the self as coming from this source we call the Demiurge. The self does not act. That is merely an illusion. What is truly doing the acting is a being which often prefers to hide behind the scene. If it was not for this being, there would be nothing, for the self cannot act. All acting is merely a delusion, a false perception of the reality of the self. Everything comes from God.
